The project aims to address the issue of the changing landscape and unregulated construction in the financial capital of India, Mumbai. Currently the city is home to the largest number of supertalls and skyscrapers under construction in the world, making the city difficult to negotiate on foot and damaging to the environment. The portraits of the towers from the outside are in dialogue with the scrutiny of found advertising imagery of similarly aspirational interiors and landscapes, which unmask most peculiar ways of homemaking. The tower is also a means to elevate oneself physically and socially above the crowd, above the labyrinth of the streets. This point of view from above offers the fiction of a city held at a distance. (AD)
